NMIC's Bronx "Know Your Rights" Forum Featured by NY1 Noticias

In response to the wave of changes to immigration policy, NMIC’s legal team has organized a series of “Know Your Rights” workshops to educate community members and address any harmful misinformation they have heard. This month’s forum was hosted at our Bronx office on Wednesday, January 24th, in partnership with Assemblymember Victor M. Pichardo (AD 86) and Lutheran Social Services. Presented in both English and Spanish, members of our legal team discussed recent changes, common concerns, and how to find free services while avoiding scams.

"No deben de perder la esperanza de que puede haber algo que puedan hacer y no deben de dejar que el miedo les paralice ni tampoco depender de lo que oyen en la calle porque la ley de inmigración es muy complicada y es importante acudir a la información que está correcta" - Sandra Perez, NMIC Coordinating Immigration Attorney

"They should not lose hope that there may be something they can do and should not let fear paralyze them nor should they depend on what they hear on the street because immigration law is very complicated and it’s important to go to information that’s correct.” - Sandra Perez, NMIC Coordinating Immigration Attorney

Free immigration consultation appointments at NMIC’s Bronx office can be made through ActionNYC by calling 311 or online. Walk-in immigration consultations are also held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at our main office. View the flyer.
