NMIC & Hispanic Federation Host Fun-Filled Family Literacy Workshop

On January 29th, Hispanic Federation collaborated with NMIC’s Education & Career Services team to host a free Family Literacy Workshop, facilitated by NMIC’s Academic Coordinator, Jason Bocko.

More than 20 families participated in the evening event that was full of fun and practical ideas for parents to support the academic development of their children. While their parents learned some helpful tips, the children in attendance engaged in fun activities, snacked on pizza, and received free books.

Our community partners at Literacy Inc. (LINC) and Uptown Stories also joined us to spend time with local families and provided more resources, including information about their reading and writing programs.

Special thanks to Hispanic Federation, LINC, and Uptown Stories for making this event a success!
