NMIC co- chairs the Washington Heights & Inwood Coalition Against Domestic Violence and organized a seminar titled "Sexual Assault and It's Aftermath" at the 33rd Precinct on April 7th. 21 professionals attended the seminar. Kristen Slesar, LCSW who is the SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner) Program Coordinator at NY Presbyterian Hospital made a dynamic presentation outlining research and prevalence of sexual assault, in addition to how to mitigate the consequences for survivors.
