assist low income job seeker develop work skills and prepare for
employment. The Job Readiness
Trainer will research and develop curricula, prepare daily lesson plans
and deliver workshops on resume building, interviewing techniques,
problem solving skills, specialized and industry-based work skills needed
to succeed in the workplace. The
Job Readiness Trainer will ensure that employment portfolios are prepared
for all job seekers in order to facilitate their referrals to job
interviews. A Bachelors degree

DEVELOPER/ACCOUNT MANAGER
Northern
Manhattan Improvement Corporation (NMIC) seeks a dynamic Job Developer to
join its Workforce Development Department. Responsibilities are as follows: 1)
Cultivate and manage relationships with business owners to address their
staffing needs. 2) Identify employment opportunities for low-and
middle-income job seekers and match candidates to the appropriate
positions. 3) Organize and
participate in job fairs to facilitate linkage between business and the
job seekers. 4) Interview and
screen candidates for specific jobs, make referrals and schedule job
interviews with employers. 5)
Track placement outcomes and ensure that program goals are achieved. 6) Develop long-term strategies for
partnership in the economic development projects initiated by
public/private entities. 7)
Coordinate the work flow with program staff. 8) Submit weekly and monthly reports on
job placement and business development activities. A Bachelor's degree is required. Candidates with an Associate degree and
significant experience in the public Workforce Development system will be
considered as well. Must have
superb analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to
build productive relationships with employers and job seekers. Excellent communication skills,
written and oral, are required.

CASE MANAGER
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Northern Manhattan
Improvement Corporation is seeking a full time Case Manager for its
Workforce Development program. The
Case Manager will be responsible for managing a caseload of 75-100
participants, conducting intake and assessments, developing individualized
service plans and formulating action plans to facilitate and monitor
participants' progress towards accessing needed services and reaching
their employment goals. The case
manager will indentify community resources and create linkages to
childcare services, mental health counseling, medical care, and
housing. Other responsibilities
include follow up, employment retention and career upgrade services. Applicants should possess a Bachelors
degree with a minimum 2-3 years experience. An Associate degree with 4+ years of
case management experience will be considered. Excellent organizational and
interpersonal skills are required; must have strong communications and
computer skills. Fluency in

COUNSELOR
Northern Manhattan
Improvement Corporation (NMIC), a social service community-based
organization in Washington Heights/Inwood is seeking a full-time
Employment and Benefits Counselor who will be responsible for completing
benefits eligibility assessments and provide employment counseling. Duties include: Provide community
residents with benefits counseling and enrollment in benefits programs.
Provide advocacy to ensure that client obtains benefits. Conduct
educational, vocation and employment screening and develop an employment
plan. Work in collaboration with NMIC’s Community Organizing Department to
promote services, attend tenant meetings and board meetings of
tenant-controlled buildings.
Attend trainings and meetings as scheduled. Refer clients to
internal NMIC services and outside CBOs.
Successful applicants should possess a Bachelor degree and two(+)
years of relative experience with an extensive knowledge of
entitlements. Be able to exhibit
knowledge of community resources. Computer literacy is necessary for this
position. Must be able to work a
minimum of two (2) nights weekly.
Must be able to work independently, be results oriented and
organized with an attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and community

CLIENT RELATIONS ASSISTANT
(Weatherization)

Corporation is seeking a Client Relations Assistant who will be
responsible for obtaining "client information data" from home owners and
tenants in order to determine the eligibility of Clients in the
Weatherization program. Reviews documents to verify proof of income. Mails
correspondence to clients and owners on status of building. Plans and
schedules appointments to collect income information from weatherization
clients. Expedites daily office work, filing, typing, scheduling
appointments and providing clients with information. Candidate should
possess an Associate's degree in business administration. One year
experience in Weatherization programs. One year general office work
experience. One year experience working with the public. Proven ability to
communicate effectively. Ability and proficiency in the use of computers
and software including Excel. Ability to read in English and the ability
to acquire knowledge of applicable rules and regulations governing
Out-Reach and Conservation Service. Knowledge of use of DHCR government
forms. Ability to operate a typewriter at 40 WPM as well as a calculator
and other standard office equipment. Ability to write and prepare required
reports. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus. Ability to
communicate both verbally and written in English. Must be a self-starter
who is able to work without constant supervision. Drivers License needed.

CASE MANAGER (Workforce

Development program who will be responsible for conducting assessments of
participants’ employability. The case manager will be working with
participants to develop individualized employment goal plans, and helping
resolve barriers to employment, provide direct services to the client such
as short-term counseling and link participants to needed resources such as
childcare, mental health counseling, medical care, and housing. The Case
Manager is also responsible for providing retention support services and
assistance to clients, who become employed. Populations include
individuals transitioning from public assistance to work, individuals with
limited English proficiency, non-custodial parents, ex-offenders, and
other unemployed and underemployed job seekers. ~ Applicants should
possess a Bachelors degree with a minimum 2-3 years experience or an
Associates degree with 4+ years of case management experience with public
assistance recipients, individuals with limited English proficiency,
and/or other low income job seekers; proven experience accessing and
linking clients to social service resources; ability to work as part of a
team; strong writing and computer skills; ability to multi-task,
prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to exhibit fluency in
