Lead Safe House. We take a comprehensive approach to tackling lead paint poisoning at our Lead Safe House, which offers temporary lead-free housing, screenings, education, legal services, and case management.

Immunization Workshops and Card Readings. As a member of the Start Right Coalition, NMIC provides outreach and education on the importance of having children properly immunized, and how to adhere to the recommended immunization schedule, as well as one-on-one immunization card readings. NMIC works in collaboration with other Start Right Members to coordinate and implement outreach strategies and community events.

Asthma Screening. As a member of the Asthma Basics for Children Coalition (ABC) and WIN For Asthma, NMIC provides community outreach and education on asthma triggers, as well as treatment and case management services to families with children that have excessive hospitalizations and school absences.

Diabetes Initiative. The Northern Manhattan Exercise Project (NorMEP) uses exercise to reduce residents of Northern Manhattan risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Health Insurance Enrollment. We work with consumers to secure and maintain health insurance.
