The board of directors is pleased to update you on the status of the search for Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation's next executive officer. The board, in spring 2014, engaged an executive search firm specializing in nonprofit and diversity searches to guide the search process in collaboration with the board. The board set an aggressive schedule for the search, which it has adhered to. Intermediate steps included screening over 300 applicants, vetting more than a dozen, and settling on four highly qualified and experienced finalists. We are poised to appoint an executive who will begin in October 2014. We appreciate your forbearance, and look forward to welcoming a leader who will lead NMIC in its mission.
