Housing Legal Services. Legal services are cornerstone to ensuring the rights of tenants are protected against the all-to-common problems of unfair eviction and substandard housing. We represent tenants and tenant associations to secure stable and safe housing accommodations and avoid eviction.

Environmental Justice. We ensure that landlords make the renovations necessary to protect all of New York City's children from the impact of lead paint, remove mold and protect all residents from environmental asthma triggers.

Senior Legal Services. We provide a comprehensive list of high quality legal services to seniors age 60+, prioritizing those at risk of losing their housing and independence.

Domestic Violence. Our domestic violence program provides a holistic set of services aimed at helping battered women achieve safety, stability and new levels of independence. The legal advocacy initiative serves battered women seeking assistance with such matters as orders of protection, custody, eviction and immigration petitions for residency.

Benefits Advocacy. NMIC Legal Services ensures that all clients get the appropriate public benefits the law allows. We concentrate on supplemental rent subsidies to keep low income families in their homes and helping disabled children receive SSI benefits.
