In the spirit of January, a month that brings a feeling of renewal, let’s embrace the opportunities ahead with hope and determination. The challenges of 2023, including a mental health crisis, a scarcity of affordable housing, and a growing number of families facing food insecurity, have only fueled our commitment to ensuring that everyone in our neighborhoods receives the support they deserve for a prosperous future.
Notably, as we celebrate our 45th anniversary, NMIC continues to stand as a beacon of opportunity—a legacy intricately shaped by your generosity. I’m excited to share stories of compassion, resilience, and the power of a united purpose. Let’s carry this momentum forward into the coming year and continue our transformative work with hope and determination!
Yasmin, a mother in our community, faced the challenge of finding affordable and safe childcare as she worked, a struggle shared by many families in the inflationary landscape of New York City. Discovering Promise NYC through a news segment, Yasmin visited our Manhattan office to enroll. Promise NYC, funded by New York City, addresses the childcare needs of families ineligible for federally funded subsidies due to their immigration status.
Expressing her gratitude, Yasmin shared, “When I was accepted into the program, I was extremely happy. I am very grateful to be able to be assisted by Promise NYC. The childcare program that they attend has taught them so much. None of this would have been possible without the help of Promise NYC. You guys are truly a blessing. Thank you for your help. I truly appreciate it.”
Programs like Promise NYC enable families to focus on their professional aspirations without concerns about the safety of their children. To explore further, click here to learn more about Promise NYC and the support it provides.
PGIM Share Personal Branding Wisdom with NMIC Students
Last month, PGIM welcomed NMIC students to their New York office to teach a workshop on the importance of personal branding and tips on how to develop one. The students broke off into groups to think about the defining elements of their brand for both personal and professional contexts. Whether it was their listening skills, refined leadership qualities, or positive outlook, each student explored facets they aimed to highlight.
